The Koffee shop was convenient to grab breakfast and lunch to go as we were traveling. Loved beekeeper taking time to explain the whole process and his comment that this is the first time in 50 years the Von Trapp Lodge had honey which I purchased.
Service was great. Our car would not start. We were going to call AAA but the desk service stepped up and started our vehicle. Thank you.
Everything was as great as it could be. Beautiful building.
Original combination of an Austrian alpine hotel with an American resort; even if the resort is old, everything was well maintained. We were particularly impressed by the high quality of the foodstuff used!
tradition, atmosphere, good food, esp. deli-bakery, hiking trails, views
The attention from the staff and the pleasant atmosphere of the lodge & surroundings. It was a surprise stay for my wife - our 40th anniversary - on our way from Boston to Montreal. She could not have been more pleased.
The Trapp Family Lodge was friendly and warm from the start. It is a great blend of class and history that everybody should experience. It is true that the Trapps make you feel the hills are alive with the sound of music.
The general spirit and energy of the resort cannot be explained. It is awesome! The afternoon walk to the Chapel was a wonderful experience and almost as if we were following in the footsteps of the Von Trappe family.I Also love the fresh flower arrangements throughout the facilities. The movies about the family were great as well as the food.
Beautiful setting. Very nice room and huge bathroom (stayed in Mozart area) Updated and nice. Hot tub, massage and bakery/brewery all great.
The history behind the hotel. Also, hotel offered us champagne for our 10 anniversary, it was very kind
The view of the mountains. the history
everything had a cost
Loved all the history of the Trapp Family
Brewery and deli was closed for remodeling. Also dining room was closed on Wednesdays so we had to go out to dinner.
the cabins were spacious and clean. the gardens are exquisite and the property is expansive with rustic charm.
it was difficult to get a reservation for a massage service but that may have been due to the holiday weekend.
They were a top notch team of caring folks. Charming & helpful in all ways.
Mountains, atmosphere, friendly staff
Austrian gemuetlichkeit even in non-Austrian staff--they have been very well trained in making guests feel comfortable in a sincere manner. Location is beautiful. Sam von Trapp is terrific. Lovely sitting areas all over the place on all floors. Live plants and real flowers everywhere-- really wonderful. Real fires in all the sitting areas--no gas flames or gas fired logs. I'd go again in a minute. Dinner was wienerschnitzel for us--generous portions but not gross, and desserts were fantastic. Home brew and baked goods were terrific. Just can't say enough good things. Johannes, Lynn and Sam have done a terrific job!
Fishing for a complaint--the only thing I wish were different is I wish the space under the doors into the hallway were not there. One cannot hear anything room to room, but we could hear everything people speaking in the hallways were saying when they had a conversational tone. That said, there wasn't much going on in the hallways.
